1. What this site actually uses
A cookie is a small value a website asks a browser to store and return with certain requests. Local storage is a different browser feature: it keeps values for a site without automatically attaching them to every page request. Privacy rules can apply to both technologies, which is why this policy covers them together.
The supplied Clipcottagescenefd files do not set HTTP cookies. They use one localStorage entry to remember your privacy decision. No analytics package, advertising pixel, social-media widget, embedded map or external font service is installed. The static map on the contact page is an inline illustration, not a connection to a mapping provider.
2. Storage inventory
| Category | Name / technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential preference storage | clipcottagescenefd.cookie-choice.v1 localStorage | Stores accept or reject, policy version and decision timestamp. | Valid for 180 days; removed on the next visit after expiry. |
| Analytics | None installed | No visitor measurement, session recording or audience profiling. | Not applicable |
| Functional, optional | None installed | No saved collections, embedded services or optional personalisation. | Not applicable |
| Advertising | None installed | No remarketing, ad identifiers or cross-site advertising measurement. | Not applicable |
The local preference is first-party storage and is not transmitted by this script to a server. The supplied code does not store form fields, a browsing history or a unique visitor identifier. Browser-controlled autofill is separate from storage created by the website.
3. Accept, reject and preferences
“Accept All” records acceptance of the current configuration. “Reject Non-Essential” records rejection of optional storage. Because there are no optional trackers in this version, both choices leave analytics and advertising off. Neither choice registers you for marketing or grants permission for future, undisclosed tracking.
“Preferences” opens an explanation inside the banner without saving a decision. You can then accept or reject. The “Cookie settings” button in every footer reopens the banner, allowing you to replace an earlier choice. If optional technologies are introduced later, the inventory and consent interface must be updated before those technologies load.
The preference lasts for 180 days unless you clear browser data sooner. Local storage does not have automatic server-managed expiry, so an expired entry is removed when the script next runs. Private browsing, storage restrictions or using another browser may cause the banner to appear again. If storage is unavailable, the guides still work, but a decision may not persist between pages.
4. Browser opt-out and deletion
You can remove this preference without using the banner. In Chrome or Edge, open Settings, search for site data, locate this domain and delete its stored data. In Firefox, open Settings, then Privacy & Security, and use Cookies and Site Data to manage the domain’s stored information. Menu names can change between versions.
In Safari on macOS, open Settings, choose Privacy and Manage Website Data, then remove this domain. On iPhone or iPad, find Safari’s website-data controls in the device Settings application. Choose the option that clears website data as well as cookies, because a cookie-only control may not remove localStorage.
Advanced users can remove the named localStorage key through their browser’s developer tools. Blocking all site storage may affect unrelated websites’ sign-in or preference features; this site’s reading content does not require storage. Clearing a browser preference does not delete an email already sent through an email application.
5. Deployment and further information
A hosting platform could introduce additional cookies or security services outside these files. The live operator must audit its actual deployment and update this inventory accordingly. The illustrative business details in the footer are not a verified registration, and the operator must configure the listed email addresses before use.
For broader information about personal data, read the privacy policy. Questions about this inventory can be addressed to [email protected]. No third-party consent manager receives or manages the choices made in this build.
